Park Smart Downtown and DOT

The City of Savannah and SDRA recently updated the Park Smart guide for downtown. The brochure has all the information you need about parking downtown, including location, rates, and hours for parking garages. In addition, the DOT service is a fare-free system for getting around downtown and includes an express shuttle circulating around downtown, ferry service to Hutchinson island and the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center, and the new River Street Streetcar service. Free Employee Parking

Employees can park in one of 350 spaces on Hutchinson Island at the Savannah International Maritime and Trade Center’s main and/or auxiliary parking lots and take the Savannah Belle Ferry. Please contact parking services at (912) 651-6470 to obtain a pass.

Civic Center Parking

Discounted parking is being offered at the Civic Center parking lot,

located at Liberty and Montgomery streets. Parking rates are $0.30 per hour.

Parking is limited during events at the Civic Center. The free Liberty Street shuttle can be used to access downtown.

Smart Cards

Pay and display parking meters now include acceptance of “smart cards,”

pre-paid parking cards that can be used at pay-and-display parking meters in

addition to coins, currency, and credit cards. The cards can be purchased in

denominations of $25, $50, $75, and $100 and are for sale at the Parking Services

office located in the Bryan Street garage.

Visitor Day Pass

The Visitor Day Pass program was created to provide visitors with the convenience of parking for extended periods without the burden of returning to their vehicle to feed meters. The cost of the pass is $12 and is valid for 48 hours from the time of purchase. Passes are good in metered spaces of one hour or more, they allow overtime parking in limited time zones, and will allow parking in City parking garages at no additional cost. Not valid in garages during special events.

Ride, Park and Shop Program

Participating merchants subsidize parking for downtown shoppers with $0.50 and $1.00 stamps good at all five City garages. Look for decals in sore windows and ask merchants for details about their individual programs..
