Downtown Streetscaping

In the fourth quarter of 2014, the City of Savannah launched the Downtown Streetscape Initiative to revitalize downtown Savannah and create a more livable and cohesive environment. The program area is bounded by the Savannah River to the north, Liberty Street to the south, Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to the west, and E. Broad Street to the east. The first phase of the project will focus on Broughton and River Streets and the northern portions of Montgomery Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Following community workshops and concept development, the Downtown Streetscape Initiative was presented to City Council for approval in June 2015. In July, the City of Savannah released a RFSQ for the first phase of the Initiative from design-build teams. SDRA has worked closely with the City throughout this process, and has assisted in the review of RFQ submittals for Broughton Street. Once a list of qualified teams is approved, the RFP will be released.
