River Street Vision and Gateway Plan
In conjunction with the Downtown Savannah Master Plan, reconnaissance efforts for the River Street Vision and Gateway Master Plan began in May 2007. The findings and preliminary strategies were presented at a public work shop in March 2008. Numerous one on one and focus group meetings were also held in 2008.

Final edits to the plan document are underway. The plan will identify new market strategies and provide a framework to understand the physical environment needed to support desired uses, including those the area is not currently attracting.  The plan will also include designing the physical infrastructure enhancements needed to create the environment desired and better connect River Street to the downtown core and emerging expansion areas.

With the completion and adoption of this improvement plan, a number of critical strategies for enhancing and expanding Savannah’s riverfront will be outlined with completion of the plan in 2009.
