Golden Broom Awards
Presented by SDRA and a partnering sponsor, the Golden Broom Award recognizes businesses and organizations in the greater downtown Savannah area for their ongoing contribution to beautifying the community. Each quarter, the SDRA Board of Directors reviews nominated organizations and selects a winner for its commitment to keeping its properties clean, well-maintained, and litter-free.
Eligibility and Criteria
Nominated establishments must have been in operation for at least one (1) year to be eligible. In addition, the associated property must be located within greater downtown Savannah, which comprises the area between River Street, Park Avenue, Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, and East Broad Street. Business may also be located on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Montgomery Street Corridor from River Street to 52nd Street.
The Golden Broom Award is awarded using the following criteria:
- Overall business appearance; a well-kept tree lawn, walkway, or storefront
- A consistently clean and litter-free establishment
- Signage quality
- Absence of graffiti
- Landscaping and flowers
